Rock Lord
Pikas are icons of the high country. Whenever I’m walking through an alpine boulder field, I can hear pikas sounding off with their loud “meeeeep!” They are very well camouflaged, but if you get an opportunity to sit quietly and patiently to watch them, you can see them faithfully gathering food for winter. It reminds me of the scripture:
Go to the ant, you sluggard;
consider its ways and be wise!
It has no commander,
no overseer or ruler,
yet it stores its provisions in summer
and gathers its food at harvest.
-Proverbs 6:6-8
